Toruń lewobrzeże

The project aims to revitalise and reactivate a historically and culturally significant part of Toruń’s left bank of the Vistula, restoring its genius loci through contemporary urban and landscape interventions.

The main objective is to reconnect the area with the city and return it to residents as an accessible, vibrant public space. New activities and a continuous network of pedestrian routes are introduced to encourage everyday use, social interaction and repeated visits.

Key landmarks, including Dybów Castle and the historic site of Nieszawa, are incorporated into an educational and recreational route divided into historical and landscape zones, both connected by a riverside promenade. A new public square, located near the former market square of Nieszawa, reinterprets its historic role as a place of meeting and exchange, while the former town gate is symbolically transformed into an entrance to the new network of public spaces. The design won second prize in the competition.
