Kolo

A beach pavilion for Poniatówka beach in Warsaw, next to the National Stadium, housing a café, public toilets, beach equipment rental, showers and changing rooms. Two white volumes are linked by wooden ramps, stairs and terraces. The main level is raised on concrete piles to protect it from the river's floods, with a movable steel ramp leading down to the beach. Our design won the 2010 competition organised by Sanitec KOŁO with the City of Warsaw; the pavilion opened in 2013 and was featured in Philip Jodidio's The New Pavilions (Thames & Hudson).
